On this guided shore excursion, you’ll be picked up by our friendly guide and private driver from the port and taken to see some of the best sights of the Côte d’Azur – Nice, Monaco and Montecarlo.
The bus will leave port for a sightseeing tour, first destination is the beautiful city of Nice. Starting with a stop at Mont Boron where you will enjoy a breathtaking view overlooking the bay and the entire city of Nice. Driving down Mont Boron towards the Avenue des Anglais where you can admire all the old English Palacios, converted into hotels, apartments.
Along the way, you will drive pass in front of the Hotel Negresco adjoining Le Chantecler built in 1912 by a casino owner and is a place the royals stay while in town. From there the tour continues to the Saint Nichols Cathedral, a Russian Orthodox Cathedral built in 1912 where you have another stop for photos. St Nicholas Cathedral is also on the path toward the coast to Monaco. After our photos moment, we’ll then driving along the Corniche, the coastal road to Monaco.
In Monaco, you will see the Oceanographic Museum and the past residences of Princesses Caroline and Stephanie. Next stop on the tour is the Prince’s Palace on Palace Square where we will enjoy free time to relax and explore. The Palace itself was built in 1191 for the royal family but today is open to the public for residences.
The next stop is the 6th century section of town of Monte Carlo and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe.This is also the location of the world famous Monte Carlo Formula 1 Grand prix Race Circuit that you get to walk on a section of it. Then our final stop is the Casino Square where the Casino of Monte Carlo is located. You can enter the casino for a fee (€10) or walk around outside and visit local cafes and shop if you desire before boarding the bus again and returning to your cruise ship well on time.
